Nickname
Your Nickname will be seen by other iSchools members. Your e-mail address and password will be used to log you in to iSchools. Create any Nickname you want as long as it's not offensive! The "check availability" link will indicate whether your desired name is already taken. Your Nickname cannot be changed without contacting us directly.
Picture Manager
Add up to 5 pictures of your item and choose which one you'd like displayed as the main image. The main image is displayed in the Market browser and in search results pages, and is the first image shown on the item's detail view page. If you delete your main picture, the next picture in the line is automatically chosen as your main picture for you.
Most file formats and sizes are supported, including JPG, PNG, GIF and TIF. Thumbnail, Medium and Large versions of your image are automatically created for you when you upload your picture, and large images are automatically scaled down to sensible levels, so you don't have to spend time messing about with all that stuff.
Whilst there is no maximum upload file size, please bear in mind that large files take a long time to upload and your web browser or ISP might not like it. (A 4 MB file will take almost 3 minutes to upload on an "up to 8mb" ADSL connection, for example).
Advertisement Scope
1. "Here"
You can choose to only display your advert to other members of your school. This means that only people with the specified school in their network will see your advert.
2. "Here & Local"
You can choose to broaden your adverts' reach by allowing people with schools in their network that are local to schools in your network to also be shown your advert. This means that members of schools within a 5 mile radius of yours will be shown your advert, as well as members of your school directly. Check the "& Local" column item to enable this option.
3. "National Advertisement"
If you wish to forego the local community filtering altogether and display your advert to anyone and everyone, no matter where they are in the country, this is the option for you. This is especially useful if you're selling an item that you'd happily put in the post. This method disables the local school options panel and puts your advert in the "National Results" section of search and browse pages. |
